Welcome to Uganda Campus

NFSU (I) Campus at Jinja, Uganda is the campus of National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) of India. It is not only the first ever overseas campus of NFSU but also India’s very first campus abroad for any public academic institution. It was inaugurated on 12th April, 2023, on behalf of the Hon’ble President of Uganda by Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda, Lukia Isanga Nakadama and the Hon’ble External Affairs Minister of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar. The aim of establishing the campus is to assist the Republic of Uganda and other friendly countries in capacity building to strengthen the criminal justice delivery system. The campus aspires to achieve it through conducting academic courses, undertaking training for working professionals, providing consultancy services, carrying out research, and assisting in setting up new laboratories and related infrastructure in the fields of forensic science, cyber security, Homeland Security, and other related areas. The broad objective is also to instil forensic culture and promote knowledge and expertise in the use of forensic techniques and technologies amongst police, defense forces, judiciary, prosecutors, security agencies, and associated departments.

Presently, the Uganda Campus of NFSU has three Departments – the Department of Forensic Science, the Department of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, and the Department of Police Science and Security Studies. In the academic session 2024, the campus is offering total six programmes including two Master’s Degree programmes and four Post-Graduate Diploma programmes.

Presently, temporary campus has been established at the Qaddafi Barracks in Jinja. It comprises Cyber Security Lab, Well-equipped Classrooms, Dining Hall and Administrative Building. Plans are a foot to create Forensic Science Labs for different subjects and Sport Facilities. The Govt. of Republic of Uganda has earmarked 130 Acres of prime land near Jinja Airport for construction of permanent infrastructure for the campus.

The campus is headed by Air Commodore K.R. Thaakar. His is assisted by number of faculty and administrative staff from NFSU in India.
